Christmas is that special time
of year when family and friends get together to share in
the colorful sights, smells and sounds of the season.
Growing up, music was always being played in our house
from the traditional to the contemporary.
Music sets the mood and gets us humming or singing to
our favorite Christmas carols.
Below are just five of my
favorite Christmas CDs out of a large collection of
Christmas music. Each selection below offers you the opportunity to listen to some
timeless Christmas music samples. Please enjoy and share
the spirit of Christmas with these CDs!
One of Canada's best
folk singer and songwriter has put his unique touch on
traditional Christmas music. He captures the
essence of Christmas with beautiful renditions of Silent
Night, Joy to the World and I Saw Three Ships.
Cozy up to the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate
Benefiting the
Special Olympics, which to date as raised over
$55 million, this is the fifth volume of a Very
Special Christmas. Here you will find artists
such as Macy Gray, Dido, Jon Bon Jovi and
Sheryl Crow sharing their favorite Christmas
songs.
A Christmas classic that stirs up that
child-like wonderment in many people. This CD
is the first one that goes in my CD player and
I can have it playing over and over without
getting bored of it. The jazzy piano is
so heart-warming and the melodies are
unforgettable. A Charlie Brown Christmas
is a must have in your Christmas CD collection.
36
Christmas songs on 2 CDs makes this one heck of
a Christmas collection. What you have here is a
cross-section of music styles and artists
spanning the generations. This CD is
perfect for a lively Christmas party or those
quiet, fireplace moments with a cup of hot
chocolate in hand.
Another
Christmas classic with a fun twist. Mixed
in with dialogue from the movie, enjoy
listening to artists like Faith Hill, Barenaked
Ladies and Smash Mouth add their own unique
style. This CD is different from the
traditional Christmas CD, it's witty,
quirky in a way only Jim Carrey can add.
Plus, who doesn't know the lyrics to "You're a
Mean One, Mr. Grinch"?
